Not only that but whenever I would attack the Carthaginian army I would damage it severely before losing because of their sheer manpower. When they were within my control they were maybe +2 or +3 PO per turn. But when Carthage snuck by my fleets in the Tyrrhenian Sea and landed near Rome, I didnt expect it to take 2 cities and both cities were instantly 100 Public Order with 20-30+ each turn. This mod is awesome due to its historical accuracy and adding much needed strategy and intricacy to the campaign and battles. All the while, Carthage did not experience any repercussions for their dying armies and fleets, and while I won every single battle, I was losing the war. I crushed Carthage's allies like Massyli, Massaesyli and others, creating buffer states and puppet kingdoms instead of ruling my newly conquered territory directly. For some reason they ALWAYS refused and as I warred against Carthage, its allies also declared war. While this was going on I continously tried to sue for peace with Carthage as I wanted to secure my newly conquered regions. By this point Carthage declared war and I easily destroyed the armies of Carthage in Syracuse and managed to conquer the whole of Sicily, and shortly after Carthage itself along with Thapsus and Lqpy. I decided to play as Rome, and I managed to secure the Italian Peninsula as well as Syracuse. I just played DEI for a while (260BC so far). This is all on top of pirates looking to raid any of my central cities/Carthage sending stack after stack at Cosentia.īasically, i might be super shit at the game, but I just dont know what to do? I thought Rome was supposed to be pretty powerful but it certainly doesnt feel like it. Which btw how tf can they field 4 armies. Even my Ally Messallia is parking full stacks in front of my cities, definitely not suspicious. My most recent game I go to secure Cisalpina/northern Italy, and again im declared on by everyone. Second game i move to take over the biggest region of greece for the money, but then literally everyone around me declares and i have to commit everything to hold it. No idea how thats supposed to be enough, forget about the constant navies attacking Syracuse. Some people have said they can hold Sicily with 1 stack if you position an army between those two cities the right way. My first game I secured Sicily, but then I end up having to commit all my forces to defend it against endless waves, with no reserve to do anything else. What I do or dont do with Sicily is irrelevant. I have no problem beating the Etruscans/Epirus super early game, but from there I have a lot of problems.įirst of all Carthage always declares on me ~5 turns after ousting Epirus from the peninsula. Ive done a few starts as Rome and it seems no matter what I do im outnumbered like 4:1 in any of the routes i go. Hey guys so I've just picked up this mod, and im honestly struggling pretty hard.
